Styling Blazers

Blazers have been making a comeback but not in the usual office style you may be thinking of. Mixing a blazer with street style is inventive and mixes two totally different types of looks together. I personally Love this style I think its extremely unique and isn’t a style that has been recycled over and over. This look is classy and edgy at the same time!

Recently I have seen blazers worn as dresses which is very unique and makes a statement. Some stores such as Nasty gal and Misguided sell blazers that are meant mot be worn as a dress and have belts ton make them since your waist in. These are great but just buttoning up an old blazer works just the same. These are often styled with biker shorts underneath. In the picture below the girl has a neutral blazer styled with a pair of high boots. I love this look and I think it almost looks retro.

Blazers are most commonly worn open and oversized over other clothes. these can be work over a simple t-shirt with some jean shorts or a skirt. In this picture the tan blazer is paired over top of a simple wrap dress along with some Balenciaga sneakers giving it that street style look. This outfit is well accessorized with some stacked necklaces and a big hot pink bag for a bold pop of color.

Midi Skirts

Midi skirts are one of my personal new favorite ways to create a simple everyday look while being comfortable and stylish. These skirts are usually patterned and can be a simple cotton material or silk. Recently I have seen these skirts in all different stores such as American Eagle and Forever 21 as well as online on Nasty Gal. These skirts are popular with different types of style so no matter what look you go for I recommend giving them a wear.

This style of skirt is most commonly worn as a casual street style look. Pictured below it is a silk cow print midi skirt paired with more casual pieces to go for a more laid back look. The skirt is paired with a simple cropped white t-shirt and some black check vans. She added some simple gold jewelry like rings as well as a black Prada bag for accessories. This look is about as comfortable as it gets but looks so stylish and cute at the same time.

While I personally like street style a bit more I do think this skirt looks super cute as a more boho style as well. I like that the same style of skirt in a different pattern and styled a slightly different way can have a totally new style and look to it. In the picture below the girl is wearing a red floral more county looking midi skirt. Similar to the first one this skirt is paired with with a simple white cropped t-shirt. She is also wearing a pair of black platform sandals and some gold hoops to accessorize.

Bermuda Shorts

When I was 12 my favorite things from Justice were their Bermuda shorts. Recently I have seen lots of celebrities wearing them again. Personally, I do not think they are flattering or stylish in any way. Im all for the unique looks mixed into street style but this is just pushing it in my option. I would like to leave the Bermuda shorts in 2012.

These shorts are almost a replica of the Justice ones every girl wore years ago. I love Bellas style and just like Kendall she truly can make anything work, but at the same time the shorts just aren’t doing it for me. I would say she dresses them up well and makes them look a bit more classy and stylish. Although these are classy on her, I just don’t think they are wearable for an everyday look for someone like myself.

Don’t get me wrong Kendall Jenner can pull off anything, I’m just not a fan of the shorts. In my opinion there is just nothing to them, they look like extra long mom jean cut offs. They do not add anything to an outfit and they aren’t flattering at all. With this look I also think it may just depend on the person. I know for a fact I could never ever pull these off but on Kendall they don’t look too bad and they fit her style.

Tiny Bags

Bags are a great way to carry everything you need with you as well as accessorize. With the bags that are trendy right now that isn’t so much the case it’s all about the look. Whether it’s a belt bag or the smallest bag you can imagine they don’t hold much but are worth the slight inconvenience. In this photo Kendall is holding a tiny furry pink bag that makes the outfit look so girly. It is cute and all but it probably only holds a lipgloss. So is the trend worth it? I think yes.

Recently the Jacquemus bags have been popping up everywhere. They are tiny and simple but adorable at the same time They can be held across the body or wrap the strap around for an instant belt bag. The versatility of this bag is super nice depending on your outfit or what youre doing. Although this tiny bag is super trendy right now it comes with a hefty price tag. If you aren’t looking to drop the big bucks on something so small no worries! There are so many other options for an almost identical tiny bag! Ive found Nasty Gal and Misguided have some great options for small bags. Their bags come in all colors and are around $20 which you can’t beat!

Jacquemus- $300

Belt bags are the perfect size for just the essentials. Its a good size for maybe a charger, some cards, and gum. These are perfect for concerts or anytime where you don’t want to bother with carrying a bag. Its also great because you don’t have to worry about leaving your bag anywhere. These come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and brands. On one side you can go for the oh so popular Gucci belt bag or hit up your local Forever 21 or H&M for a much cheaper alternative. Either way you can’t go wrong. They hold what you need, are perfect for summer adventures, and are super stylish.

Athleisure is the move

When it comes to choosing an outfit, we all want style and comfort and athleisure gives the best of both. Theres no way to not love this trend. You can still look high fashion, and put together all while being totally cozy. This trend can be very edgy or very sleek it all depends on your style. Theres lots of ways to go about this trend but these are some of my favorites.

Making sweats stylish sounds pretty odd at first. While this look isn’t for everyone it definitely makes a comfortable statement. You can still style sweats with a simple crop top or cropped hoodie for a more simple look. This athleisure\streetstyle is all about oversized and loose. Big chunky sneakers top off the loose hoodie and sweats making it very on trend. The black leather jacket, bag and hat give the look a little more style and edge. Gray sweat pants are so simple but are so trendy right now. Anyone can create their own take on this sweats look with not a lot of effort.

Biker shorts and oversized tee shirts are must for atheisure/streetstyle wear. Biker Shorts are getting more and more popular and are worn most commonly under tee shirts and sweatshirts. they make a tee shirt look sporty and trendy at the same time. While looking current it also gives a retro look as biker shorts were huge in the 80’s. They are like a short pair of leggings which as we all know are the most comfortable things to wear. Biker shorts could be paired with a Fear Of God sweatshirt for a high end look or a simple but cute tee from Pretty Little Thing. Either way anyone can achieve this trendy comfortable look.

Pretty Little Thing

Stacking Gold

Stacking up rings, earrings and necklaces is a great way to make any look appear more put together. It adds to any look, from tee shirts to dresses, the touch of gold makes a statement. This trend has been on the rise, what started as stacking 2 necklaces has gone to layering all the jewelry you can. Whether its thin gold chains or chunky pendants they are sure to level up your look.

Two or 3 necklaces of different lengths is one of my favorite ways too accessorize. Most places that carry jewelry have options for layering its all about how you put them together. Getting one statement or more expensive necklace and surrounding it with cheaper ones is also a good way to do it. The layered look makes even a plain tee shirt look expensive, put together, and fashionable.

The M Jewelers

There are so many ways to stack earrings. layering hoop earrings with any other piercings has become very popular. You don’t have to have lots of piercings though, cuffs are a great way to give the allusion of more. A cheap place for great earrings is Forever21. You can get a whole pack of hoops for $7 or studs for only $4. For some more high quality options The M Jewelers has some great options also. A slicked back bun can show off stacked hoops and sparkly study and pull a whole look together

Slim and Shady

Sunglasses are an essential for these summer months, so why not block the sun and make a trendy statement all in one? Sunnies have always been on elf my favorite accessories, and with all the new shapes and styles its hard to resist. The thin frames give a retro feel and can complete an outfit. These unique sunnies range in price but look great either way, with the right outfit. Colored lenses in the skinny sunnies are also a great way to make a statement for summer.

The colored lenses are perfect for any occasion during the summer. They are unique and make any simple outfit instantly look trendy and put together. Ive found they don’t do the most amazing job blocking the sun, but they still look cute. These are super popular for events like concerts and music festivals. In these cases the sunnies are solely for the look, and of course a cute pic.

Poppy Lissiman- $98

While the last sunnies had a higher price tag, its not difficult to find dupes. There are so many online shops that have almost identical small sunglasses for under $20. Even Target will give you the same look for way less! I think with small sunglasses like these its difficult to tell the high end designer ones from the inexpensive ones. With a fun and simple accessory like this, there’s no need to drop the big $$$ find a few cheaper ones and mix it up for a fraction of the price!

Shein- $8

Summer Sneakers

Sneakers are making a statement in fashion. Whether you’re headed to the grocery store in a pair of biker shorts with an over sized tee or headed to lunch in a skirt with a solid top, sneakers make the look. With the sky rocketing popularity with sneakers, each brand is putting their twist on it. There is the classic (and affordable) airforce 1 which comes in a very large range of color options and now customs. There is also the infamous balenciagas. These were one of the first high price tag trendy sneakers. They are chunky and unique and make any outfit pop. Louis Vuitton hopped on the bandwagon and made their LV Archlight sneaker with is very curvy and eye catching. Chanel also of course makes some beautiful sneakers. You name the designer they probably have some unique variation of sneaker. With sneakers you get style and comfort so what’s not to love?

Chanel Suede Calfskin sneakers in Black- $950

Sneakers are extremely simple to style and they always look great. Look #1 is the on the go look. You could go as simple as an over-sized tee or hoodie and call it a look. You could also add a pair of biker shorts under the tee-shirt for a little something extra while still staying comfortable. For an extra finishing touch, accessorize. Adding hoops or stacking some rings and necklaces instantly take a simple outfit to the next level.

Look #2 is the lunch date or more casual night out look. Its something just dressy enough but paired with sneakers to give it a more edgy and casual look. Dresses or skirts/pants paired with a plain top work great for this look. Again, accessories are essential. Hair scraps have been super in lately and add a cute girly touch. Layering with hoops, rings, and necklaces is also a must.
